Previously HDP posted, “LSSL (Lick Salt Shot Lime)” and now we have a cute & catchy summer tune ft Sean Kingston (fyi – he was recently released from the hospital after a stay due to water skiing injuries). In finding the link for “DECEMBER”, we saw a few comments saying, “glad she’s bring RnB back” however, listening to the leaks and even the “December” single, is this what RnB is called now? Seems more like she’s going for a “general mainstream” sound or simply “pop”. Will be interesting to see what the “overall” sound of her album will be.

a SWV comeback??
As a child of the 80s and teen of the 90s, I have to say I think I grew up with some of the BEST in all music from RnB to Pop to Rap to Reggae to Rock to Hip Hop . . . yes all of it. Sorry but the music of the 2000s, seem like a big blur. One of songs that will stick with me for LIFE is Michael Jackson’s “Human Nature”, when it emerged again in the 90′s in SWV’s “Right Here”, that became a permanent music keeper as well. SWV – I don’t really know what happened to them or why they fell off but, you can’t deny they gave us some RnB 90′s classics, “Use Your Heart” “Weak” and of course “Right Here”. Now Chris Brown has taken from his Rihanna situation and gave us “She Ain’t You”. Well checking my SPAM folder (lol,

The infectious song, from it’s bouncy ska influenced bass line, harmonizing vocals, and consciously friendly lyrics, is ready to make the “world smile for awhile”. Describing the song himself, Stuart remarks, “It’s sunshine carrying rays of hope and light. It’s reggae with a twist of pop that brings the spirit of the globe together in harmony and sound.” Capturing those sunshine rays, Stuart was able to convey his concept musically through “Rule The World“. One of his favorite lines from the song is“All the world loves a child when he smiles”, stating that “it speaks of the innocence that can be recaptured by those who have lived, by looking into the eyes of a smiling child. There is healing in their eyes.” “Rule the World” has been selected to be

NEW MUSIC – Tilibop “Bring Yuh Seed”
One riddim that will definitely keep playing in 2011 is Seanizzle’s “One Day”. With Seanizzle himself, just releasing his video “One Day” this past week, the lifetime of this infectious riddim has been extended. Naturally what happens over the course of a riddim play span is, the more popular it becomes, more artist add their voice to it. While most of these are unofficial or never even get noticed, there is one addition to the “One Day” riddim, that I found as a positive addition. Tilibop’s “Bring Yuh Seed”. I could be biased being that I’m a parent, but his lyrics are an applaud to those young females, that choose to be mothers and have their babies. Regarding the lyrics, Tilibop stated “There are a lot of teenage pregnancy out there and am just applauding the mothers who bring dem seed” While teenage pregnancy continues to be an issue, and

DANCEHALL IN VA??? PT 1 – DAGGA
When I tell people where I live at, and explain what I do, everybody response is REALLY? in VIRGINIA? Yes really, in Virginia there is a huge reggae/dancehall community here. While I can admit there is a disconnect sometimes between what’s playing in Jamaica, NY or Florida, our community has sustained a long time now. Anyways enough blah blah . . . One of the artist emerging out of Virginia by way of Jamaica is Dagga. In the world of RnB he could be a crooner called Darren, but in dancehall he’s Dagga Relentless aka Dagga Masta. At the young age of 20, he’s already mastered the dancefloor. As a part of Relentless Movements, he’s maturing his skills as a selector, but his heart lies in music.
