“I give thanks for the musician and artiste that give their time toward the project trust me it was very very hard work”Dameon Gayle
Known his 2009 work with Wasp (“Unfair Officer” and “Cry Fi Dem”) and Sir Ford (“Some Days”) to the most recent releases like Wasp “The Government”, Konshens “Buss A Blank”, Delus “What Tomorrow May Bring”, and GWhizz “Life Sweet”, Dameon Gayle aka Warrior Musick Production, is quietly yet soundly, making his path in reggae. With the uplifting mellow bounce of his riddims and trademark “studio vibes” videos, Dameon has earmarked his own style amongst today’s reggae producers.
In November 2011, Warrior Musick Productions released “Think Twice Riddim” and out of @Ms_HDP‘s curiosity of the production process, Dameon spoke with @HDPWorld about the making of “Think Twice Riddim”.
“The riddim originally started as song for one of my artiste Sir Ford’s up coming album. Everytime we hang out he has been singing that Phil Collins song, “Another Day in Paradise”, so we decide to get it done for the album. We worked on the riddim and tried to record the song on it but it just wasn’t succesful, deciding that we should try an orginal song for the riddim, “Oh Lord”.
From there I decided to put other artist on the riddim. While editing a video for Fantan Mojah (on the Fresh Medz Riddim), I played “think twice” for him and immediately hear him singing a little part that is now turned into the hit single “Rasta Got Soul” (which is the 1st release off the riddim).
After that, I just knew it was a hit and begin to work on the riddim full swing. I had Duane Stephenson or Tarrus Riley, in mind, to do the cover from day one. My contact to Tarrus wasn’t successful but Duane gave a strength, which was perfect cause he has similar tunes to Phil Collins.
I decide that I have to video record the sessons just to capture the vibe and creation, was something spontanious that just grew into what it is. It was just pure niceness doing the project, can’t stress how much all the artiste gave full support. Give Thanks”
“Think Twice Riddim” is currently available on iTunes.
